=========================================================================== WARNING: Not compatible with other mods (even minor mods) =========================================================================== Version : ver. 1.1 Advanced engine needed : GZDooM IWAD Needed : Doom II Primary purpose : Single Player Only =========================================================================== Title : Trousled Filename : TROUSLED_1_1.WAD Release date : 16 February 2021 Author : A.o.D. (redacted) Other Files By Author : HYDRORUN.WAD, assorted bad ideas Description : A concept map featuring a lot of ACS scripting that focuses on environmental features and cosmetic changes. This is basically a self tutorial on how to implement basic scripting into a Doom map. This is a fist-only Tyson map, except on ITYTD, where I let you have a shotgun for those players who just want to sightsee. Nightmare is not supported, it will cause hilarious breakdowns in the scripting. The Story so Far : You are the RepairGuy. Previously you've fixed a water treatment plant that had been overrun by demons, and a hydroelectric dam that had been overrun by demons. You get notified that a hydroponics lab has gone offline after a vehicle crashed into the garage. Remote monitoring alerts you that one of the hydroponics pods has gone dead and you're on call to go fix it. Once you arrive, you are dismayed to discover that the lab has some sort of medieval castle growing out of it like a malignant tumor. It looks like you'll have to find a way in and once again fix yet another facility that has been overrun by demons. The only way in seems to be a hole in the roof of an outlying part of the castle. Unfortunately, it's a tight squeeze and your toolbelt gets caught as you drop through the opening. That's not the worst part, though. It seems like all of the hardware in this place is at least partially busted, and only seems to respond to percussive maintenance. It looks like it's up to just you and your trusty fists to do some troubleshooting. One last bit of advice: If a problem seems too big for just one Repairguy to handle, don't be afraid to recruit some help. After all, many hands make light work. --- How to launch --- : Drag and drop onto GZDoom or use a launcher. Suggested GZDoom Settings : This was meant to be played as crunchy or as modern as you like. However, the visuals were built with the following in mind. GL Acelleration. No texture interpolation. No Dynamic lighting. No Colored Lighting. Jumping and crouching are turned off by the WAD. Free look is enabled and encouraged, but by no means required. The gameplay is meant to be 100% vanilla, and if you like 100% classic graphics, this is meant to work best that way. Why GZDoom then? Because it has exceptional texture control and ACS scripting.
